To Register & Add Accounts
|
|
For Personal Accounts - register online by clicking on the gray box on our home page that says "E-Banking Register Here". This will take you to our secure registration pages. You should allow about 10-15 minutes of uninterrupted time so that you can complete the registration without having to leave or take a break. For security reasons, the registration session will time-out if a period of inactivity is detected.
For Business Accounts - contact a Cash Management representative at 361-888-8200 or your bank officer to complete a Business E-Banking Registration agreement. Because many businesses require signatures for multiple signers and the set-up of multiple users and accounts, the set-up is customized to your specific needs.

Whether you register online or on paper, the set-up of your accounts is still completed manually at our bank. We take time to personally review each registration and to verify the information provided to protect the security of your accounts. If you have registered for Bill Pay, this also requires additional communication between the bank and the company that we contract with to provide this service. In most cases we can complete the registration process within 3 business days for personal accounts. When you receive your E-Banking Welcome Kit in the mail, you will have the instructions and login information you need to be able to start using your services.

Online registration currently requires that you have an active Social Security Number in our system records. If you do not have a Social Security Number, you will have to register with a manual form, which you can get from any Personal Banker at your branch bank. You will also need to have on hand the following information: your account number(s), your ATM card number, and your Driver License number (or other official ID). We will also ask you for a current e-mail address so that we can keep you notified of any changes or announcements concerning your e-banking services. You do not have to have an e-mail address to register (simply put "none").

Use the same procedure as you did to register the first time: online registration for personal accounts, or the manual form for business accounts. For the online form you will enter your personal information again to verify your identity, and then request the services you want for the new account(s) only. If you already have Bank OnLine access for your other account(s), this new account will be linked to the previous set-up and will display with your other accounts after logging in. For questions about registration for personal accounts, you can call the Customer Service DirectLine at 992-9911 in Corpus Christi, 749-7711 in Port Aransas, 361-727-9955 in Rockport, 512-328-0999 in Austin and 1-800-257-8316 toll free outside of these areas. For business accounts, please call Cash Management at 361-888-8200 or send us an e-mail through Bank OnLine Mail and they will assist you with adding your account.

Yes, everything that you submit to American Bank through online registration is encrypted using 128-bit SSL. To verify the security of the page, right click (Windows) or Control-Click (Macintosh) your mouse anywhere on the actual online registration page. On the pop-up window, select Properties or View Frame Info depending on your browser type. This will give you more details about the location and security of the page. (A Web address that starts with https: indicates a secure site, as does the use of SSL encryption.) Because our Web site uses frame technology, some browsers do not automatically show the lock symbol for secure pages that are displayed within a frame.
