Introduction
Bank OnLine allows you to access information about your American Bank deposit
and loan accounts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Plus you can print
statements, transfer money between American Bank accounts and even send secure
e-mail to our Customer Service department.
When you registered for Bank OnLine, you indicated which accounts you wished
to access. As soon as your designated accounts are set up and we have
completed your registration, we will send you an E-Banking Welcome Kit in the mail that will explain how to get started. You can always add other
accounts through the same online registration form you used to sign-up. (On our
home page: E-Banking Register Here).
Remember, you must have a connection to the Internet, and a supported browser in order to successfully log on to Bank OnLine.

3. Click on Login to Bank OnLine and Bill Pay at the upper left hand corner of the web

American Bank has employed the latest security standards to ensure that your

when you are logged in that your account number is not displayed on the Bank OnLine screens.
4. On the log in screen, enter your User Name and
random code provided, then click on the "Next" button.
You will receive a Welcome Kit that will explain your User Name and Password to you after
you register for Bank OnLine. You should receive this information within 7
days of your registration. If you forget or lose this information, you may call our
Customer Service DirectLine at 361-992-9911 (Corpus Christi), 361-749-7711 (Port
Aransas), 512-328-0999 (Austin), 361-645-3220 Goliad / Victoria or 1-800-257-8316 (toll free outside these areas) on business weekdays
from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Menus
The Bank OnLine main drop-down menus includes the Accounts, Transfers, Messages/Options, and Help. Within each drop-down menu option, you have access
to additional functions. For example, under the
Accounts menu, you can access your Account Balances, Transaction History, Account Details,
Account Statement or Account Alerts.
Account Balance
The Account Balance screen displays all accounts that are registered with Bank OnLine. Deposit accounts are listed first. The Available
Balance column indicates the net aggregate effect of today's real-time
transactions on the current balance. The Current Balance column indicates
the balance in the respective account as of the close of the previous day's
business.
If you have loan accounts registered for Bank OnLine access, you can see any available credit or the current balance.
Transaction History
The Transaction History screen displays all transactions for the selected account including a running balance
based on your available balance. You can use the advanced functionality to customize the transactions history.
Account Details
The Account Details screen allows you to review detailed information about
your accounts, such as the net effect of today's transactions, uncollected funds
(float) and overdraft availability. If your account is interest bearing,
you can review interest and rate information as well.
To review another account, simply select another account from the pick list
of registered accounts that will appear in the account window when you click on
the arrow to the window's right. The same page will reload, showing the
information related to the new account you just selected.
E Statements
The E Statements screen enables you to review and/or download an image of your monthly account statement.
Transfers
The next major function, Transfers, allows you to move funds among registered
Bank OnLine deposit accounts at American Bank. To do so, click on the arrow to
view the pick list and select the From account to transfer from. Then click on the arrow to
view the pick list and select the To account to transfer from. Then place
your cursor in the Amount field and key in the amount you want to
transfer. Next, enter the date of the transfer and specify if you want to make this a recurring transfer. Lastly, ener your password for additional security and click on the "Submit" button.
You will be prompted to confirm the transfer transaction you are
requesting. If you are satisfied with the information, click on
"OK."
Messages
The Bank OnLine system offers a messaging function that allows you to send
secure messages to American Bank. We recommend that you never use
non-secure e-mail to transmit any personal or account information to the bank,
as it is possible for someone to intercept or view that communication.
From the messages screen
To generate a new message to American Bank, simply click on the
"New Message" button. These messages go to a centralized
distribution point that will route them to the appropriate area of the bank, so
please indicate in the Subject box what the message is concerning and/or to whom
it should be sent. Then, move your cursor to the blank box to begin typing
your message.
When you have finished typing your message, click on the "Submit"
button to submit your message to the bank. Also, on the messages screen, you can review or delete messages you recieved or sent.
Options
Change Password
This allows you to modify your own password any time you
want. It is a good security procedure to change your password frequently.
To change your password, first enter your current password, then place your cursor in the "Enter new
password" field and key in a new password. Then place your cursor in
the "Re-enter new password" field and key in the same new password
again. When you have keyed in your new password twice, click on the
"Submit" button to update your password. Your new password will be effective immediately.
Your Bank OnLine password must be between 6 and 18 characters long and should contain both letters and numbers. All alphabetic characters will be case sensitive.
NOTE: Once you have changed your password, we are unable to tell
you what it is if you forget it. We can, however, reset a forgotten
password to the original formula-driven password. Then you can change it
once again to anything of your choice, within the guidelines for password
selection.
