Account Alerts - Bank OnLine

How to Use and Set-Up Alerts

With Account Alerts through Bank OnLine, you can set-up e-mail alerts for each of your accounts. For example, you can set-up an e-mail alert to be sent to you when a particular check clears, or if your account goes below or above a certain balance. The alerts are triggered and sent each day until you cancel the alert. As there are conditions that may affect the reliability of alerts, Account Alerts should not be relied upon solely for account information.

How to Set-Up Account Alerts

Step 1: Set-up alerts

  • Select Account Alerts from the Accounts drop-down menu

  • On the Account Alerts and Reminders page, click on ..add new alerts/reminders and edit event alerts

  • This will open the Add Account Alerts or reminders page and here you will select the alert category from the drop-down list options

  • Fill in the check number, balance amount or other appropriate number for the alert you have selected

  • Select where you would like to receive the alert

  • Click on Add Alert to submit your alert setup

  • Review the confirmation page, and then click on Submit to finalize the account alert

Step 2: Receiving an Alert and Viewing your active Alerts

Alerts are triggered and sent automatically each day based on how the new current balance compares to the previous day's current balance. With business accounts, alerts set-up under one user are not viewable by any other users on the account.

The e-mail comes from "internetbanking@americanbank.com". Each alert references the Id number of the alert. If you are unsure of which alert has been triggered, you can go to the Alerts page in Bank OnLine, and reference the Id number to the particular alert received. The Alerts page can be viewed by selecting Account Alerts from the Accounts drop-down menu

Step 3: Removing or changing an Account Alert

  • Select Account Alerts from the Accounts drop-down menu

  • To delete the alert, clik on the trash can icon next to the alert you wish to remove. You will be asked to confirm the request by clicking on "Yes, Delete it."

  • To edit the alert, clik on the pencil icon next to the alert you wish to change. Update any of the Alert settings, then click on Submit
