American Bank Collects Over 2,000 Teddy Bears

The 2018 American Bank Holiday Bear drive from Dec. 3-29 netted a total of 1,773 bears from the bank’s Corpus Christi and Port Aransas locations and 342 bears from all other American Bank market areas, for a total of 2,115 bears, the bank’s largest annual collection to date.

This marks the 24th year clients, employees, and friends of American Bank have contributed teddy bears during the holiday season. The bears are donated to various agencies to give to women and children who are in need of comfort and help to rebuild their lives. They served as decorations on the Christmas trees at each of American Bank’s locations during the collection process.

In addition to the 1,773 bears donated to The Purple Door and Stuffed with Love for Nueces County Court at Law No. 5, 88 bears collected in Rockport will be donated to Camp Aranzazu. In Victoria, 71 bears will be donated to the Victoria Police Officer’s Association and in Goliad, 86 bears will be donated to the Goliad County Sheriff’s Department. American Bank’s Austin locations collected 97 bears for donation to Mainspring Schools.
