American Bank Wraps Up Record Setting Holiday Bear Drive

bears around a Christmas treeThe 2019 American Bank Holiday Bear drive, held December 2-31, netted a total of 2,116 bears collected bank wide, the largest annual collection in the event’s history. In Victoria, 328 bears will be donated to the Victoria Police Officer’s Association and in Goliad, 59 bears will be donated to the Goliad County Sheriff’s Department. The 61 bears collected in Rockport were donated to Camp Aranzazu. In Corpus Christi, 1,534 bears will be donated to The Purple Door and Nueces County Court at Law No. 5, Judge Timothy McCoy. American Bank’s two Austin locations collected 113 bears for donation to Mainspring Schools. In San Antonio, 21 bears were donated to 1HOPE for Kids in their first teddy bear collection.

This marks the 26th year clients, employees, and friends of American Bank have contributed teddy bears during the holiday season. Over 20,500 bears have been collected since 1994. The bears are donated to various agencies to give to women and children who are in need of comfort and help to rebuild their lives. They serve as decorations on the Christmas trees at each of American Bank’s locations during the collection.
