The new Bay Branch will be located at 101 North Shoreline Blvd., Ste 100., at the corner of Coopers Alley.
The new and improved branch will offer an upgraded workspace for employees as well as a modern, convenient branch experience for clients.
November Update
Our Bay Branch is nearly move-in ready. On November 25, the Bay Branch will open for Safe Deposit Box needs ONLY.
Our Uptown Branch is Moving!
Our Uptown Branch team will relocate to the new Bay Branch later this year. If you're looking for your Uptown banker, they've moved to our offices at One Shoreline Plaza. Both the Shoreline and Bay locations are conveniently located within one mile of the Uptown Branch.
The Uptown Branch will officially close on December 27, 2024.
Safe Deposit Box
If you are a current safe deposit box holder at our Uptown Branch, it is now time to close your safe deposit box and remove its contents. The contents of your safe deposit box must be removed no later than December 27.
If you would like to retain your safe deposit box, you will need to open a new one at another American Bank Corpus Christi location. The new Bay Branch will have a limited number of safe deposit boxes.
IMPORTANT: If your Uptown safe deposit box is not closed by Friday, December 27, it will be considered abandoned. At that time, American Bank will drill open and remove the contents of your box. Unclaimed items may be transferred to the State Comptroller’s office as abandoned personal property. You will be responsible for the $155 box drilling fee.

Close your box.
When you close your Uptown Branch safe deposit box, remove its contents, and decide NOT to open a new box, American Bank will reimburse you the prorated amount remaining on your current agreement.
Open a New Box.
If you’d like to relocate the contents of your Uptown Branch safe deposit box to a new location, American Bank will reimburse you the prorated amount remaining on your current agreement. You will be charged the full amount for your new safe deposit box.
You may transfer your safe deposit box to the American Bank location that is most convenient for you to use. Branches currently offering safe deposit boxes include American Bank’s South, Saratoga, Padre Island, Bay, Port Aransas, and Rockport locations.
Sizes and availability will vary. Speak with your banker or a branch manager to confirm availability.
Following the Uptown Branch closure, any unclaimed safe deposit boxes will be considered abandoned. At that time, American Bank will drill the box and move its contents to the vault for a period of time. Eventually, any unclaimed items will be transferred to the State Comptroller’s office as abandoned personal property. This process is called escheatment.
No. Regulations prohibit anyone at American Bank from moving safe deposit boxes for clients.

The current Uptown Branch team will relocate to the new Bay Branch or One Shoreline Plaza location.
Our One Shoreline Plaza Branch offers a one-stop full banking service experience for clients looking to meet with their banker.
Our new Bay Branch has a convenient drive-thru and adjacent parking if you need to make a quick stop at the bank.
The new Bay Branch will open in December 2024. You can expect more information as we get closer to the grand opening.
The new Bay Branch location will be great for American Bank and for the Corpus Christi community. The new office space will be upgraded and built out to meet our bank’s needs while providing a better branch experience for clients. The drive-through will be adjacent to the branch and no longer separated by a parking garage like at the Uptown location.
You can expect the same, friendly faces. Branch Manager Jessica Guzman will also relocate to the Bay Branch in December 2024.

Both branches will have holiday cash envelopes beginning in December.
