American Investment Services' clearing firm, First Clearing, is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). SIPC protects AIS clients against the custodial risk of a member investment firm becoming insolvent by replacing missing securities and cash up to $500,000, including up to $100,000 in cash, per client.
In addition to SIPC coverage, First Clearing maintains additional insurance coverage for AIS clients provided through London Underwriters (led by Lloyd's of London Syndicate) ("Lloyd's"). For clients who have received the full SIPC payout limit, First Clearing's policy with Lloyd's provides additional coverage above the SIPC limits for any missing securities and cash in client investment accounts, up to a clearing-firm aggregate limit of $1 billion (including up to $1.9 million for cash per client).
Coordinate and oversee the establishment and management of retirement plans including 401ks and SEPs.
Money Market Funds and Certificates of Deposit
Through the utilization of money market funds and certificates of deposit, American Investment Services' experienced portfolio managers work diligently to provide you with competitive yields for your portfolio.
Investments in money market funds are not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or by any other government agency. Although money markets seek to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, it is possible to lose money by investing in a money market fund. Investors should consider their investment objectives, risks and charges prior to investing in a money market fund. A copy of the prospectus is available from American Investment Services at your request and should be reviewed carefully prior to investing.
Certificates of deposits have minimal liquidity, may be subject to early withdrawal penalties, and to the extent principal and interest exceed FDIC insurance coverage limits, the excess is at risk.
Fixed Income Securities
Whether your primary objective is safety of principal or maximizing your income yield, AIS can help you invest your capital in a diversified portfolio of fixed income securities and successfully navigate potential interest rate and fixed income market changes.
In addition to online access to account data, AIS clients are also provided with detailed quarterly portfolio reports.
Stock and Bond Research
