We are here for you.

Our goal is to return American Bank branches to a more "normal" mode of operation as soon as possible, while complying with Governor Abbott’s orders, aligning with CDC guidelines and doing everything we can to protect the health and well-being of our clients, employees and communities.

The Covid-19 virus is still with us, however, and a variety of virus mitigation measures are in place at all American Bank locations for the foreseeable future.  We continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation and will make adjustments as things evolve.

Branch Availability and Changes

The bank’s social distancing plan has temporarily transitioned to Motor Banks as the primary means of operation, with most services being available through those drive-through facilities during their regular business hours.

We have begun phasing in branch lobby visits without appointments at selected branches. You can find the latest information on the status of the branch you wish to visit below.

For branch lobbies continuing to require an appointment, please contact the branch in advance by phone to schedule a time to visit for services not available in the Motor Bank. The lobbies of branches that do not have a Motor Bank (San Antonio Concord Plaza and Corpus Christi One Shoreline Plaza) are open with limitations as to how many clients are allowed in the lobbies at one time.

The Austin Westlake branch at 3520 Bee Caves Road is now open without an appointment. The Motor Bank will continue to be capable of handling nearly all types of transactions and we encourage you to keep using it, along with our ATM and online/mobile banking services for the best social distancing experience.

The American Bank Downtown Austin branch at 620 Congress has closed permanently.

Our commitment to the Austin area remains strong – as does our commitment to provide you with a superior banking experience. The Downtown branch staff, as well as those at the Westlake branch, are excited to welcome Downtown clients to their new Westlake home at 3520 Bee Caves Road.

The San Antonio Concord Plaza branch is temporarily closed.  

The San Antonio Concord Plaza branch will reopen as soon as possible with limitations as to how many clients are allowed in the lobby at one time. Please call (210) 930-9700 for more information.

The ATM located in the Concord Plaza parking garage is available 24/7 for cash withdrawals and balance inquiries.

What to Expect When Visiting a Branch Lobby

Everyone visiting or working in an American Bank lobby or other facility is required to wear a face covering, but we will ask that you remove it briefly upon entering so our security cameras can record your presence. Employees are required to wear a mask at all times, except when alone in a private office, and gloves are optional.
Certain doors may be designated for entrance only or exit only and will be marked appropriately.
A banker will greet you at the door. Safe branch capacity practices will be followed. If the lobby is at capacity when you arrive, you will be asked to wait outside the entrance or in your vehicle until it is your turn to enter.
Outside and inside, we ask that you and our employees practice social distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet of distance from others. Floor decals will help you determine safe distances when waiting in line.
Hand sanitizer stations will be available.
Shields will be in place at the teller windows and lobby desks. Our lobby employees will continue to monitor their health each day and have been instructed not to report for work if they are experiencing any signs of illness or have been exposed to someone who is – or may be – ill.
Frequent and enhanced cleaning practices will be maintained.
