American Bank Appoints New Regional Board Members for Houston

HOUSTON, TX | March 15, 2023

American Bank recently announced the appointment of six new members to its Houston Regional Board of Directors. Joining the Houston Regional Board are:

  • Randolph Ewing, Partner at Ewing & Jones law firm, based in Houston.
  • Kelly Adels Hess, Chief Executive Officer and Principal of CompuCycle, a full-service, end-of-life IT asset management, asset disposition, and electronic recycling company based in Houston.
  • Steve Krueger, retired executive with more than 40 years of banking experience.
  • Cliff Kuykendall, Managing Director of Integrity Advisors, Inc., providing focused, senior-level investment banking services.
  • Chris Masters, Managing Director of the Houston office of Doeren Mayhew, a regional public accounting firm with headquarters in Troy, Michigan.
  • Steve Winter, Founder and President of ASTOUNDZ, a Houston-based online marketing company.

The new board members join Glenn Clements, American Bank Vice Chairman for Houston, who helped form the regional board after starting with the bank in August 2022. As Vice Chairman, Clements will chair the bank’s Houston Regional Board.

Ewing is a Partner in the Houston law firm, Ewing & Jones, with specialty practice areas of commercial banking and finance, energy, financial restructuring, general business, intellectual property, international law, mergers and acquisitions, and sports law. Clientele at the firm include private equity firms, large privately-owned middle market companies, small private companies, and individual entrepreneurs and investors. Ewing earned his BBA, MBA, and JD from The University of Texas at Austin. He has previous experience as a BBVA advisory board member and is a member of Lakeside Country Club. 

 

About Kelly Adels Hess

Hess is Chief Executive Officer and Principal of CompuCycle, a woman-owned, full-service, end-of-life IT asset management, asset disposition, and electronic recycling company serving clients globally through their facility in Houston. A native Houstonian, Hess is involved in the day-to-day operations at CompuCycle with a focus on client acquisition and implementing sustainable practices that complement her clients. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Southern Methodist University, member of the Young Presidents Organization, and board member for the Emery/Weiner School.

 

About Steve Krueger

Krueger has more than 40 years of experience as a Houston banker, most recently serving as Executive Vice President with First Horizon Bank. He also worked with JP Morgan Chase and its predecessors in multiple roles, including commercial real estate, financial institutions, and commercial middle market. Prior to that, he also served as President of Ameriway Bank, N.A. until its sale. Krueger holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. A native Houstonian, Krueger serves on multiple boards, including Harris County Land Trust (President), Harris County Housing Finance Corporation (Vice President), and North Houston Association. He is a member of Royal Oaks Country Club and Lakewood Yacht Club.

 

About Cliff Kuykendall

With more than twenty years of middle market investment banking experience, Kuykendall formed Integrity Advisors, Inc. in 2006, where he currently serves as Managing Director. The firm provides focused, senior-level investment banking services. Since inception, Integrity Advisors, Inc. has completed approximately $300 million in merger and acquisition transactions, multiple debt placements, and various consulting arrangements. Kuykendall began his investment banking career in 1999 when he joined GulfStar Group as Vice President and later as Managing Director. He later joined Schnitzius & Vaughn, a boutique investment bank, as Managing Director where he focused on mergers and acquisitions of privately held companies. Kuykendall holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.

Masters is the Managing Director of the Houston office of Doeren Mayhew, a regional public accounting firm headquartered in Troy, Michigan. Doeren Mayhew provides a full range of accounting, tax, litigation and valuation support, merger and acquisition advisory, and business advisory services. Throughout his career, Masters has guided clients through the merger and acquisition process, provided financial due diligence for projects, and assisted corporations through complex restructurings. He holds a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Masters is also involved with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Association of Certified Public Accountants, Construction Financial Management Association, and Association for Corporate Growth.

 

About Steve Winter

Winter is Founder and President of ASTOUNDZ, a Houston-based online marketing company he started in 2016. An entrepreneur at heart, Winter has expertise in IT, start-ups, and real estate. He previously founded and led ERGOS, one of Houston’s leading managed IT service firms. Winter earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Houston. He is actively involved with Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, St. Thomas Booster Club, Heartland Technology Group, ConnectWise, Houston Technology Center, and Whitehall Breakfast Club.
