Houston, TX | July 12, 2023
American Bank recently announced the appointment of Carrie Colbert to its Houston Regional Board of Directors.
Colbert is founder and general partner of Curate Capital, a venture capital fund that invests in businesses by women for women. With a background as an executive in engineering and finance as well as an investor and content creator, Colbert blends business acumen with creativity. At Curate Capital, she strategically sources both funding and investment opportunities, while advising portfolio clients on strategic planning, financial projections, and marketing and social media tactics.
“Carrie is a tremendous addition to our Houston Regional Board of Directors,” said Glenn Clements, American Bank’s Vice Chairman for Houston. “As a venture capitalist, business leader, and champion for small businesses, Carrie’s expertise will help our bank connect with emerging businesses … and especially those that are women owned. I’m thrilled to have her as an advisor for American Bank.”
“As an entrepreneur, one of the biggest frustrations I’ve had is finding adequate banking support,” said Colbert. “With American Bank, we’ve found the perfect solution: the technological capabilities of a big bank with the personal touch of a small bank. It’s a thrill to join the Regional Board and I hope to provide as much value to this dynamic group as American Bank has given to us.”
“We have a strong Regional Board in Houston, and Carrie’s addition only enhances what this group can help American Bank achieve,” said Charlie Phillips, American Bank’s Market Leader for Houston. “Our clients and community will benefit from Carrie’s vision and entrepreneurial spirit. I’m excited to have her join us.”
““We are extremely pleased to welcome Carrie to our Houston Regional Board,” said Donette Stubblefield, American Bank’s Chief Banking Executive – Commercial and Wealth. “We’ve established a great presence in Houston to better serve the banking and wealth management needs in the Houston area.”
