American Bank has announced plans to expand its San Antonio office from a Loan Production Office to a full-service business and consumer banking branch and move to a new location in the spring of 2020. Making the announcement was Jennifer Wilkinson, San Antonio Market President. In preparation for the move and expansion, Julie Welch has joined the bank as Branch Manager.
In January 2018, the bank announced a five-year strategic plan designed to leverage its strength as a community bank and its reputation for solution-oriented banking relationships. One of the key elements of the bank’s vision includes growth and investment in existing markets such as Austin, Corpus Christi and Victoria, coupled with expansion into new markets including San Antonio and Houston, both of which occurred in 2018.
“American Bank is celebrating the first anniversary of its San Antonio Loan Production Office. It’s been a great first year and we are excited to announce plans to move into a permanent location and expand the range of services we offer our clients in the San Antonio market,” said Wilkinson. The bank has signed a lease for space for the full-service branch in Central San Antonio, on the ground floor of the Concord Plaza office tower, located at the Jones Maltsberger Road and Highway 281 intersection near the Alamo Quarry Market. “Our initial San Antonio plan called for expansion to a full-service branch after we had been in the market for some period of time and grown our client base. But the early response and growth we experienced made it clear very early on that the expansion would come sooner rather than later,” Wilkinson added.
“We are thrilled to have Julie Welch join our San Antonio team in preparation for the expansion,” Wilkinson continued. “She is a highly experienced manager who understands American Bank’s unique style of banking and is committed to delivering a client experience that exceeds expectations,” she added.
