American Bank Recognized by Foster Angels of South Texas

American Bank was recently presented with the Ted Oakley Legacy of Change award by Foster Angels of South Texas. Named after Foster Angels founder, Ted Oakley, the award honors an organization or individual whose philanthropic efforts are creating an exceptional impact to further the mission of Foster Angels of South Texas. The award was given to Stephen C. Raffaele, American Bank’s President and CEO, during the Foster Angels Champions of Courage event held in Corpus Christi, Texas last month.

“I’ve known Ted for many years, and I know his standard for excellence. It means so much to all of us at American Bank to receive an award with Ted’s name on it from an organization Ted founded and where he has poured so much of his energy and time,” said Raffaele. “Foster Angels does important work for our community. It’s an organization that makes a difference where and when it matters. It’s this type of difference-making community support that also drives us at American Bank. Supporting our communities by helping our neighbors and friends is of the utmost importance to American Bank.”

“We’re excited to open this location for our clients and to establish a new homebase for our community development efforts,” said Mark Meyer, President of American Bank’s South Texas Region. “When we formed the Community Development Department earlier this year, we laid out a plan to engage them with our community. This new office is strategically placed to help Monique and her team to better connect with all areas within Corpus Christi. They’re already doing great things for our clients and our city.”

“Over 49,000 children and youth in foster care have been positively impacted by Ted Oakley and Foster Angels' efforts since our inception 25 years ago,” said Trista McGinnis, Development Director for Foster Angels of South Texas. “So much of this was made possible with support from American Bank, and we felt it was only appropriate that they receive the Ted Oakley Legacy of Change Award. We are so grateful for their genuine concern for this vulnerable population, who mean so much to us.”
